Can LICORICE ROOT Help Your Dog Stop Itching? And Paw Licking?

I just watched this video below, and learned that licorice root can help prevent a dog from obsessively licking their paws. One of my shepherds, Shelby, has this issue, so I looked through the reviews to see if other people had reported good results, and I did find several reviews where people said it helped their dogs. I just looked up one brand - I'm sure there are many other brands with good results as well, but this should give you an idea of what some dog owners say about it.  I'm copying and pasting some of the good reviews below, with a picture and link for the brand I looked up.

Horbäach Licorice Root Extract | 2 fl oz | Alcohol Free Tincture | Vegetarian, Non-GMO, Gluten Free Liquid

Watched a pet program where the Vet recommended using this if the dog keeps chewing and nibbling on his foot. So far it is working and the dog is less interested in trying to eat his foot. Good price and fast shipping.

We gave this to our dog when she was itching so bad from seasonal allergies in the spring. (We think it was pollen from oak trees, she got it on her feet and then chewed her feet constantly) A vet online gave instructions to give the dog ( a goldendoodle)this along with a Turmeric capsule to stop the itching, this made her a bit more sleepy which was needed at the time. She had itched to the point of having scabs at certain places. I was so happy to see this work and will do it again if necessary.

So I’ve been giving it to my dog to stop her itching. It does take a while for it to become effective but she has minimize her itching a lot.

Flavor is mild I tasted it. Using it to help ease my dogs allergies. It is helping. I would buy again

So far so good. I have taken it and I use it in a salve for my itchy dog! He smells delicious! And it does seem to help.

I heard this product helps with dog allergies so I purchased it for my 8 pound Pomeranian who is constantly biting his paws. I add a few drops of this to his food every day. This works wonders he is no longer biting his paws!! Recommend

My dogs chew their feet sometimes. I put their meds on the underneath and this on top of the paw. It is safe, they hate the taste, thus leaving the paw to heal. It will stain though.

I saw this on a YouTube by a vet he gave a little bit to his dog to keep her from licking her paws! I tried it and it works she seems to like the taste and it doesn’t take much

I bought this because it says it helps dogs with collapsed trachea. I put half a dropper on my dogs food, he eats it. His cough doesn't seem to be improving, but I have only been using a couple of weeks.

My dog didn't seem to mind the taste.
It is so easy to dose. The dropper is marked in mg.
I'm trying this to relieve her itching.
Ask me again in a few weeks and I'll gladly update.
