Here's what other dog owners had to say about the apricot seeds we are using

I finally went back into my Amazon history and found the exact brand of apricot seeds I bought many years ago. I really liked the company and bought from them three times because they were really nice and I remember they sent some kind of nice note with their package that made me feel really good about the company. I don't even remember what the note said, but I just remember having a good feeling about the company after reading it., so I wanted to recommend them now. Especially because it seems like they have a pretty good product. The seeds I just gave Kali were five years old, and they it still seemed to work.

You can see this brand on Amazon (and look through the reviews yourself) by CLICKING HERE.

I copied and pasted all the reviews that had the word dog in it, including one bad review (which didn't really bother me... I explain why further down this page).

Just to show people why I think this is such a big deal, look at this review. This is the best one. That I found from a dog owner. I copied and pasted the rest, further down the page. This one is clearer because it's a screenshot, not a copy and paste of the text. These chris screenshots are images that make a page take longer to load, so I am just including this one, but if you read it, you'll see why I think it's well worth putting here at the top! The rest of the reviews are not as good but this one review alone it's worth its weight in gold.  This one review alone would probably get me to buy these, if I had never tried them before.

You can see other reviews (by dog owners) if you scroll down the page.

There may be even more reviews for dogs that don't have the word dog, but instead they may have used the word "labrador" or "shepherd" etc, but I just have not had time to look that up.

The one bad review didn't scare me because it seems that the person may have taking too many, too soon.

I want to point out that the first time I ever took apricot seeds, i did something pretty stupid. Somehow because they looked like almond seeds, i didn't really think about the fact that you could seriously overdose by taking too many at once.

One of the the foods I buy on a regular basis is almonds, and when I eat them, I grab a handful and chew them, the way you'd grab and chew a handful of popcorn. Somehow, seeing this food that looked so much like almonds (only smaller) made me think nothing of grabbing a small handful  (i think it was probably at least five, but probably less than ten) and chewing them (it's been at least seven years, so I don't remember the exact amount).

Big mistake!!!

I suddenly felt like I was going to faint. I remember having to sit down (I even kind of vaguely remember feeling like the place I was sitting down was actually on the bathroom floor), and I think my eyesight might have even started to go dark for a bit.

Luckily, things went back to normal after about a minute. But that was a very good lesson, and I got lucky that I didn't actually faint. I learned very quickly that you have to be careful with these. Don't go popping a handful of them as if they're almonds. They are not. They have cyanide in them. That's why they kill cancer!

I don't particularly enjoy sounding like a dummy, but I share these stories because I do enjoy the the thought that maybe other people can learn from my mistakes, hopefully they won't be repeated 😆

Please keep that in mind when you read the review by the person who gave these seeds a one star review. I don't know all the circumstances behind what happened with them, but it sounds like it easily could have been a case of too much, too soon. So please be sure to do your research on these. It's definitely best to start out slow.

When I first started Kali on these, i ground them up with a nutribullet, and then crushed them even further with a mortar and pestle. I only gave her about the equivalent of maybe one and a half to two seeds, the first time she tried them. The second night, i gave her four seeds, ground up in the dose of liquid supplements, I give her together in a syringe ( i am putting together a list of what those things are, and hope to publish it in the next couple of days).

Last night, I gave her about six seeds. She was doing great this morning, so I went ahead and gave her another five seeds. I decided to try mixing the crushed apricot seed powder with manuka honey. I wanted to see if she would eat that alone, but she wasn't crazy about it. So I took some pieces of rotisserie, chicken and dipped it into the honey, and she woofed it down!!!

I have yet to see her have a single negative side effect, and if anything her mood and erergy have just been getting better. She was already at a good energy level, and in a good mood since I started giving her the Sam-e. But I can tell you that she hasn't had any negative side effects. And it seems that her large tumor has been shrinking a little bit.

The main part of her tumor started getting uncomfortably large about a week ago. I don't know what the problem was, but it totally freaked me out. I heard that you are supposed to be able to feel a space between the tumor and your dog's body. There was a long time where I could do that, but every once in a while, it seemed that the tumor was more attached to her body, it depending on what I was or wasn't doing.

Then, maybe about a week ago I started noticing that the tumor was really attached. To the point where it was totally freaking me out. I didn't know why it got like that. But seeing the main part of that tumor becoming more detached, and shrinking slightly, is a huuuuge relief.  The fungated part of her tumor also seems to be drying up a little bit. It would be a dream come true if the whole thing would just start shriveling up and going away, without me even having to do all this stuff with the manuka honey and bandages at bedtime.

One of the reviews gave me a lot of hope because it sounded like one of the reviewers had a dog with a tumor that had a large abscess. The tumor started shrinking, and it sounds like it shrank to the point where it's just not a problem anymore. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but i'm really hopeful that this could happen for Kali. I will continue to report her progress as we go along.

Here are there reviews with the word dog in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product but don’t eat more than 3-4 kernels.

  • Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2025
I have read up on the health benefits of eating a small amount of bitter organic apricot seeds. There’s a good amount in the bag and they look and taste so fresh. I’m pleased with the quality and quantity. The first few chews aren’t bad, but towards the end, they are bitter. I swallow my last couple chews down with water. Please follow the suggested dosage to take each day, because these seeds contain a substance that can turn into cyanide which is harmful to the body. One could even overdose from cyanide poisoning from eating too many of these kernels. I have read many posts where people are feeding these to their dogs as well. I would be extremely cautious in doing so.

5.0 out of 5 stars I bought this for my dog.

  • Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2024
I bought this for my dog he would not eat a kernel so I ground it up in my coffee grinder. I first ground up 3 kernels so I could accurately measure the powder. 1/8 teaspoon =3 kernels. At first I gave him 1/8 teaspoon for 1 week now I give him 1/4tsp added to his breakfast. I see a difference in his energy level. I decided to try it myself and found that I like the results

I put the bag of whole kernels in a freezer bag and store it in the freezer. when I run out of the powder I just take it out of the freezer and grind up enough to fill the little jar that I use to hold the powder. The jar holds enough for both my dog and I to have a dose everyday for about a month.

I like the quality of the product and will buy again when I need it. I think one bag will last a long time

5.0 out of 5 stars Third order.. price getting high!

  • Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2025
I don't care for the taste, but that is the point, natural bitter. Yuck lol Some people like that. I grind these in my herb grinder and store in a glass jar in the fridge. Put them in my smoothies. I also use the ground powdery form to add a tiny scoop to my dog's meals. Wish they weren't so expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars My dogs cancer and abdomen abscess is gone

  • Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2022
We’ll my Dalmation developed cancer, we took her to the vet, they basically said here’s some pain meds just make her comfortable. So I tried these, my wife said you’re not supposed to give dogs peanuts ect.. we’ll I said if she dies from peanut allergy she was already on that road anyways. We ground in up in our blender, gave her quarter teaspoon in her breakfast and same in her dinner. Within 1 wk her abscess on her abdomen healed stopped leaking and bleeding, and her tumor in same area shrunk down from a baseball size to almost unnoticeable. She is 12 years old and is running and playing with our 2 years English cream Lab. It’s 2022 today and we started this treatment before Halloween in 2021. Looks like she’ll have another few good years , and we stopped giving her the pain meds because she’s not whining anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bitter Apricot seeds - B-17

  • Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2023
I got these for my dogs and my hubby and me .
It’s a B-17 and know to help cure certain cancers . We all lack B vitamins and hopefully this will help my dog . He’s one of the most precious in my life and I will do anything to help him . I read and know people personally that continue to give to their dogs . So prying this works and they eat them out of my hand even though they are so bitter .

5.0 out of 5 stars Service was fast. They are bitter, but that ...

  • Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2017
Service was fast. They are bitter, but that is what it need to get B17. I grind them up and add it to my dog food twice a day, along with giving her apple cider water with lemon and baking soda. Her regular tumors seem to be shrinking, I waiting to see if this helps with the cancer. I started chewing a few myself to see if the kernels help with my ankle pain.

1.0 out of 5 stars THIS STUFF POISENED BOTH MY DOG AND ME

  • Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2018
I took a bunch of the kernels and ground them up in the dry attachment of my vitamix blender so I could precisely measure the amount I gave to my dog who has several tumors and the amount I took myself. The dosage was on the low side according to my reading. Still, I immediately became very dizzy and had some bad falls. My dog slept far more than usual. I gave us both a lower dose, but the symptoms didn’t really go away. So I decided to stop altogether. It took about four days for the vertigo to completely disappear and now my dog is her active self, now. I have requested and have received a refund and do not plan to use this product again even though I have a stable form of leukemia. My dogs tumors are the same size as when we started.
